It is an unfortunate reality of the IT industry that there is no industry wide accreditation program at the company level. This means that the best way to ensure an IT services provider can deliver expert advice, consulting and support for Microsoft software is to ONLY work with a Microsoft Partner that has a Solutions Competency relating directly to the work you require them to perform.

Not All Microsoft Partners are Equal

Literally hundreds of IT companies in Sydney say they are a "Microsoft Partner". But that actually means very little - becoming a base level "Registered Partner" requires nothing more than answering a short online quiz and completing an application form.

The reality is that less than 5% of Microsoft Partners in Sydney have the far more rigorous Gold and/or Silver Solutions Competency.

“By achieving a silver competency, organizations have proven their expertise in specific technology areas, placing them among the top 5 percent of Microsoft partners worldwide,” said Phil Sorgen, corporate vice president, Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft Corp. “When customers look for an IT partner to meet their business challenges, choosing a company that has attained Microsoft competencies is a smart move. These are highly qualified professionals with access to Microsoft technical support and product teams.”

NetCare achieves renewal of its Microsoft Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions Competency

In June 2018, NetCare achieved renewal of its Microsoft Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions Competency demonstrating its ability to meet Microsoft Corp. customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic business environment. To earn a Microsoft competency, partners must successfully demonstrate expertise through rigorous exams, culminating in Microsoft certifications. And to ensure the highest quality of IT services and IT support, Microsoft requires customer references for successful implementation and customer satisfaction.

“This Microsoft Competency showcases our expertise in today’s technology market and demonstrates our deep knowledge of Microsoft Office 365” said Darryl McAllister, Managing Director. “Our goal is to accelerate our customers’ success by serving as technology advisors for their business demands.”

What's the difference between Gold and Silver Competency?

Most large IT companies have Gold Competencies as they have large teams of skilled Microsoft engineers and an important criteria for Gold is to have a larger number of engineers who have passed the Microsoft exams. Smaller IT companies - like NetCare - focus on a smaller market area, so they don't have as many engineers. The bottom line is a Silver partner still must have engineers that pass exactly the same exams as a Gold partner - but it just has less engineers in their team.
